Garima Pant in Engineered Tile Block Print Madder
We playfully interpreted in a signature U&O block print that was inspired by traditional Athangudi tiles commonly seen in South India. Printed in the traditional kalamkari block printing technique using a combination of natural dyes.
The print suits the Garima, a casual effortless pull-on pant with an elasticated waist, hand braided drawcord, wide legs and a cropped length.
Kalamkari is a special block-printed cotton textile that refers to the ancient style of hand painting that was born out of the art of storytelling. Making Kalamkari fabric involves 23-steps including treating and preparing the fabric, preparing the dyes and finally hand printing with precision and care.
Handwoven on a pedal loom in Kutch, our kala cotton features a woven texture. Taking an inspiration from the intricately designed honeycomb web, this season we have develped a unique honey comb weave on our kala cotton base.
