Simple living, deeply rooted traditions and values of rural communities.
For Spring/Summer '24 we looked into the benefits and significance of embracing simplicity as a valuable model for societal well-being while promoting a sustainable and harmonious existence. By focusing on the essence of rural life, we looked at traditional wall art, festivities and clothing styles as references. We also drew inspiration from our previous collections to incorporate U&O classics.
Our creation process took us to artisan villages throughout India to accomplish the variety of specialty proceses. We developed new weaves, incorporated new techniques (like Rogan art), designed original block prints and embroidery. Godhuli is the Sanskrit word for twilight. This time of day is referred to in poetry and song in the same manner as homecoming. Inspired by the twilight hues, we created textiles that evoke the natural beauty of sunset and sunrise.
